This vacancy is opened on our outsourcing project.
The client is a high-growth insurtech startup with a vision to streamline the experience of insurance distribution through smarter software. The leading agency management system providing the core underlying data architecture for MGAs, MGUs and Wholesalers in the specialty insurance sector.
Type of employment: full time, remote
Skills We Look For
Automation - static analysis, unit testing, functional testing, smoke testing, infrastructure as code… We need people who live and breathe these concepts!
Agility - with our “shift left” mentality, we want to find problems early, feed back constantly and communicate clearly.
Distributed work - we’re fully remote, and need people who flourish in that setup.
Strong software engineering expertise - we’re looking for people who have been there!
Producing secure and performant systems - it’s not good enough to work right, it must be solid!
Documentation - tests, wiki pages, READMEs - it’s all part of making our work discoverable and busting silos.
Collaboration - “no heroes” - we’re all playing for the team.
Qualifications
Most job adverts lead with the tools but our experience shows that a good engineer is a good engineer, regardless of tools. That said, this is our stack and it would be helpful if you’ve engaged with at least some of it:
PHP - the modern kind, not the difficult early years! (or any similar language)
The Symfony framework (or any similar framework)
Relational databases (we mainly use PostgreSQL but anything in that space is fine)
JavaScript (we’re pretty close to the browser with our JS, but we do use some frameworks here and there)
Git (us and everybody else in 2020!)
If you’re someone who likes to get involved in infrastructure, that would be a plus, our stack is:
Docker/ECS (although Kubernetes is looking increasingly useful)
